A/Prof Michael Nguyen

Leading interventional cardiologist A/Prof Michael Nguyen is highly skilled in a variety of advanced invasive procedures, including ASD/PFO closure, alcohol septal ablation and left atrial appendage occlusion.

He has a special interest in carotid stenting and percutaneous coronary intervention and is currently Director of Clinical Trials and Research at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

A/Prof Nguyen completed his cardiology training in Melbourne and fellowship training in interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular interventions at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

A passionate mentor to trainees and junior doctors, he was awarded the Clinician (Teacher) of the Year in 2012.

As a frequent speaker at Asia-Pacific conferences, A/Prof Nguyen relishes the chance to bring back the latest research and advances in the cardiology field to patients and General Practitioners.

He is an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia and has an academic appointment with the University of Notre Dame School of Medicine.
