What is an Loop Recorder Insertion?
An implantable loop recorder is a small device, about the size of a matchbox, that is placed just under the skin of the chest to continuously monitor the heart’s electrical activity. It records and stores electrocardiograms (ECGs), allowing it to detect any abnormal or irregular heart rhythms. If an irregular rhythm occurs, the device automatically records the event and stores the information so it can later be reviewed by a technician or cardiologist.
