Dr Robert Harvey is an Interventional Cardiologist specialising in complex percutaneous coronary intervention, with particular expertise in left main disease, bifurcation lesions and chronic total occlusion coronary treatment.

Dr Harvey undertook his medical training in Queensland, completing medical school with gold medals for the highest academic achievement in his class and graduating as dux of his year. He then completed Physician and Cardiology specialty training at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Following his general cardiology training, he undertook an interventional cardiology fellowship at The Princess Alexandra Hospital before moving to British Columbia, Canada to complete a two-year fellowship in complex coronary intervention at the Royal Jubilee Hospital on Vancouver Island. During this time, he was involved in local and international research trials through the Victoria Heart Institute Foundation.

His commitment to delivering high-quality coronary stenting is driven by achieving durable long-term revascularisation outcomes while improving patients’ symptoms and quality of life.

In addition to treating established coronary disease, Dr Harvey has a strong interest in cardiovascular prevention, from lifestyle education through to contemporary medical therapies for lipid management and cardiovascular risk reduction.

He also has a strong interest in medical education and previously served as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland and a clinical teacher for physician registrar examination candidates. He is involved in teaching medical students and training doctors in Perth, and regularly presents emerging evidence in general and interventional cardiology at clinical meetings and educational events.

Dr Harvey consults privately with Access Cardiology in Albany, Mandurah, Nedlands, Wexford and Joondalup, where he is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care for patients with complex cardiovascular conditions.
