Dr Sekaran Gana is a non-interventional cardiologist specialising in echocardiography. His main clinical interests include the primary prevention of heart disease in addition to the work-up and management of coronary artery disease, valvular disease, cardiomyopathies, resistant hypertension and cardiovascular care in cancer patients.

After graduating the medical school, he moved to Switzerland where he undertook a PhD at Inselspital in Bern (University of Bern) investigating the genetic and molecular aspect of hypertension. He went on to complete his cardiology training before undertaking fellowship in echocardiography at Fiona Stanley Hospital specialising in advanced echocardiographic techniques, stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography.

Dr Gana is multilingual and able to communicate in Tamil, Sinhalese, Russian and German (limited).
